The following tips will show you how to get the best out of your Galaxy phone battery in everyday usage. This will come handy in situations where there is no power supply and the battery is low.

1. Close, Disable and Uninstall unused Apps
Some apps tend to run some background processes that can heavily drain your battery. You need to close such apps or disable them and in worst cases uninstall them to preserve your battery life.

To close running apps on your Galaxy device press the Recent apps button, then select close all. And to quickly uninstall any app, long-press on the app icon on the home screen then tap on the Uninstall icon followed by Ok.

However, for apps that cannot be uninstalled, you can disable them from running and draining your battery. Go to the Settings page tap on Apps, select the app and tap on disable.

2. Reduce the brightness of your Phone Screen
Reducing the display brightness of your phone is one of the simplest way to preserve the battery life of the Galaxy smartphone as high display brightness and long display time-out will drain your battery quickly.

To reduce your screen brightness, swipe down from the top to view the notification panel then drag the brightness slider to the left. You can go ahead to adjust the display time-out by tapping on the gear icon at the top, select My Device, then Display followed by Screen timeout then set your desired time-out preferably less than 5 minutes.

3. Turn OFF Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Mobile Data and Location
It is highly recommended you regularly switch off your Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS if you aren't using them, a lot of apps use them to carryout some background processes which in turn drains your battery. You can switch each of these off by pulling down the notification panel and tapping on the bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Mobile Data and location icons.

4. Turn ON Power Saving Mode
Power saving mode conserves battery power by limiting mobile device CPU performance, reducing screen brightness, turning off the touch key light and vibration notification. For the Galaxy phones the power saving mode will close all unnecessary apps and screens so that you can substantially preserve your battery time.

You can turn on Power saving mode manually, or you can set your device to go into Power saving mode automatically when your battery reaches a certain percentage. To do that just swipe down from top and tap on Power Mode.
