Not only in Lekki. People just come together and mount gate on the road and start calling it estate to deprive access to the road except those living inside the street they now called estate . |

While dealing with Lekki phase 1, they should not forget Idado, Osapa, Chevron, some of them are even building walls to block roads. |

How i wish Governor Makinde will do the same thing in Lane 4 at Oluyole Estate, Ibadan. Residents of that street planted a gate that is permanently locked thereby subjecting tenants of adjoining streets to do a rigmarole trip before accessing their houses. Very annoying! |

Nice one from d Lagos State Government. There is dis shikinnni estate in my area, where the landlords use to lock d hatey during d day for some days. They open it only just to ease their own comfort..... The biggest house in d estate doesn't worth 15m, yet there yanga pass those living @ judge quarters |

My able governor Sanwo-Olu,please,and please, don't go on vendetta o, because it makes you to be one of the old Governors but stop only what is bad! If the CDA Residents are not complaining, they can maintain their Private Security, please, show them support,as that is legal, afterall, protection of lives and properties should be a joint effort! Besides, let ever street in Lagos State have Street Lights as a way to reduce invation of night Marauders. God bless Lagos State. |

Racoon: Do you know what your problem is? It is being clannish, being devoid of objectivity and being unrepentantly sentimental in your opinion up there. A number of South Easterner allow nepotism and undue sense of entitlement to govern their reactions to national issues when something as simple as striking a balance in multi-ethnic and polytheistic country as Nigeria is will ease tensions. Look deeply again at the picture you uploaded. I helped you to re-upload it for easier analysis. The poster of that piece' name is Femi Ogunsanwo. He reported on the fact that the alleged arsonists are Yorubas. This is in order to disprove the widely held opinion that non-yoruba actors commited the arson. I wonder if you would be that objective if the roles were reversed. Yet in your "sensible response", you felt that claiming that Ojukwu "bought and developed mashy lands into VI and Igbos developed Lagos to what it is today" just to spite the same yoruba guy in your post that vindicated Igbos is your next line of reaction. You must think that you are smart. The same way some of you shamelessly claim that Lagos is a no man's land, yet you would not accept Onitsha (which has an undiluted historical connection to Yoruba empire) being called a no-man's land. In the same breath, you backed up your clannish and bigoted response with the non-sentimental, unbiased opinion from a Yoruba man. Have you no shame? How can you be so insensitive and diabolical? 1 Like

Nice development. The street gate in my neighbourhood has been under lock and key for over 2years. The discomfort has been unimaginable. You can't invite guest to your house. Kudos to the Lagos state Government. I hope Rivers state government can take a cue from this. |

Racoon:Read again, the focus ain't on gated estates but ordinary residential areas within which are government (better put, public) roads. If all areas lock up the access roads going through them away from the public, how will those in the practice access places other than their residence Estates have rights to gate their areas as they build the infrastructure within them themselves but not streets built by government. Understand the context of argument before jumping into the discuss. |
