No fewer than a dozen of cows have been reportedly struck dead by thunder at Urhodo-Ovu community of Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State.

Our reporter gathered that the thunder, struck following a light rain killing over 12 cows grazing on farmland while the herders fled the scene in fear.

It could not be ascertained when the incident occurred as of the time of filing the report.

But it was gathered that shortly after the cows dropped dead, their stomachs got swollen.

Sources said the herders had been in the habit of destroying farmlands in the area and the affected farmers had severally complained to the herders to no avail.

The incident was said to have attracted sympathisers from neighbouring villages who were said to be in shock over the incident as well as elated that the herders had been paid back in their own coin. grin

A similar incident was said to have also occurred in other towns and communities in the area unreported.

Acting Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Delta Command, DSP Bright Edafe, could not confirm the incident when contacted, on Thursday morning

Spiritual arrow fired

Arewa is jittery because Southern governors came together for the first time in a long while.

They have all been having High BP as they celebrate their Sallah because Yoruba's crossed the Niger to Delta state for the first time in a long while.

I pray Southern governors stand their ground and speak with one voice and earn their respect from these Northern elites who feel they control all.

If Nigeria splits today, the odds are in favour of the south. We have water, we have banks, we have oil, we have commerce, we have intellect. We can import food or mass produce our own, abi we no know where they sell tractors and seedlings.

It is time for the South to carve a path and move on. We have tried 100 years of unity. let's try splitting. let no idiot tell you we are better together. After 60 years of independence we have been downhill headed to no where.

I am almost 40 years, since i was born i have never seen anything getting better in Nigeria. let's split and try, if it fails, it will be on record we tried. Each region will blame their leaders.

The one that pains me most is living in Ekiti or Abia and be killed by the guns or knives of a Fulani who has refused to modernise, travelled all the way from the north and when you talk their leaders will say they must continue cattle rustling.

Most countries in Europe and Africa import foods with ease.

There is love in sharing oo, farmers in that delta community should share their otumokpo with other southern farmers abeg

As we deal with these motherfücker Fulani herdsmen physically let’s deal with them spiritually.

Let’s see maybe government will arrest thunder, there Father

The ban on open grazing will only be effective if the people are permitted to slaughter any cow seen grazing openly. undecided

You'll see how effective the ban will be when people start hunting for cows as bush meat out of hunger grin

Can't the lightening also kill those terorists moving around with the cows? Terorists deserves no mercy so wipe them away just as isreal is doing to bahamas, chop them like kpof kpof.

Can't the lightening also kill those terorists moving around with the cows?
