With the high rate of kidnappings, abductions, terrorist activities and general insecurities going on all over the place, I felt it's a good place to enlighten thousands of Nairalanders who may not be aware and remind those who are that this brilliant WhatsApp feature may come in handy should need be.

So you are at a place and you feel suspicious activities going on and need a family member to know the exact place you are including street and house number down to 4 meters accuracy to where you are, incase you go missing, or you are lost in another state and need a friend to come pick you up or help describe how to get home.
You could send/share your live location to that your friend/family on WhatsApp in less than a minute. Here is how

1. Click on the WhatsApp icon.
2. Click on the contact name you wish to share your live location with.
3. Just like you do when you want to send photo and video messages, Tap Attach > Location > Share live location
4. You will be prompted to Enable location permissions for WhatsApp in your phone's settings. Just follow the prompt and allow WhatsApp access to your phone's location.
5. Tap send. Your EXACT location will be sent to the contact and he/she will receive it as a map pinpointing your exact location. I mean the name of the street and in some cases the exact house address (eg No 4,WhatsApp street) of the location sef. Enlarge the map further and the picture of the house may even show. All this within SECONDS.

Try it, it's pretty easy and cool.

*You can select the length of time you'd like to share your location. Or you could just switch off the live location after the dilemma is over._
