Nnpc Warns Marketers As Kerosene Hits N140 Per Liter by Nobody: 8:39pm On Apr 27, 2011
Worried by the
continuous rise in the price of
Kerosene, the Nigerian National
Petroleum Corporation (NNPC)
on Wednesday warned
petroleum marketers across the
nation, that it will no longer
tolerate what they are doing with
theproduct, stressing that the
corporation is bitter with them.
The warning came as kerosene
scarcity intensified across the
federation.
In Lagos, the product is very
scarce in most petrol stations.
Where it is available, the product
was selling between N135 and
N140 per litre.
Group Managing Director
Corporate Affairs, NNPC, Dr. Levi
Adjuonuma decried the situation,
stressing that very soon the
marketers will be made to tell
Nigerians what they are doing
with kerosene that the NNPC
dispenses to them through the
Department of Petroleum
Resources(DPR).
“The nation’s refineries are
working fine and producing
kerosene. We give the marketers
the same kerosene we are
supplying the NNPC Mega
stations. Very soon, the
marketers will have to tell
Nigerians what they are doing
with the Kerosene. This is a stern
warning we are giving to the
marketers,” he said.
Adjuonuma said the scarcity will
soon be a thing of the past in
the nation but could not say
when exactly the scarcity will
end.
