Nairalanders,l need ur advice..before my call up letter,l av it in mind to redeploy back to southwest,after camp,but yesterday wen it was out,l was given crossriver and those dat l told said it a gud place to serve so nairalanders who live in crossriver,my question now is,
Is it a place, l can live after service and hustling or l should redeploy back to southwest (Ogun state)becos l dont want to go back home,
(2)how far with d cost of living dei and is it a friendly environment for.Thanks

Okay here we go:

You’ll be camping at Obubra, a local government in the North. Hopefully you may be posted somewhere in the capital city of Calabar
It’s a sleepy town at the moment. The last EndSars protests drove the final nail into that coffin.

Cost of living fair. Transportation is cheap. Foodstuffs are cheap especially vegetables. A nice selfcon goes for between 180k to 250k.

Don’t expect good paying jobs. Even jobs that pay 40k are almost non-existent. Sex and nightlife, if those are your concern, abound plentifully.

If you want peace and quiet then this is the city for you. Your PPA will be a dead government ministry no doubt. And none of those ministries will pay you. It’s best you try your hands at a business while you’re there. Strangely, there’s a moderate and available purchasing power.

I repeat, it is not a city to be expecting good paying jobs. 20k - 30k yes. 50k and above? Don’t kid yourself!
