Re: Port Harcourt Monorail Nearing Completion by auwal87(m): 1:06am On Apr 28, 2011 |
Dis Guy: If they are getting monorails like one below, then maybe the glasses can be opened, but for the one posted above, its a glass that cannot be opened, it can only be broken. This one go get windows for "fresh air" for sure |

Re: Port Harcourt Monorail Nearing Completion by DisGuy: 1:09am On Apr 28, 2011 |

Re: Port Harcourt Monorail Nearing Completion by auwal87(m): 1:10am On Apr 28, 2011 |
alj harem: Power na very Vital, just for them to make sure there is UPS to open the train in case of power cuts by PHCN, they can climb down one by one, olobo dey worry who? |
Re: Port Harcourt Monorail Nearing Completion by EzeUche3(m): 1:11am On Apr 28, 2011 |
Port Harcourt already looks better than most cities in Nigeria. With the exceptions of Enugu and Abuja and some of the Northern cities, what city looks as good as Port Harcourt in terms of development? |
Re: Port Harcourt Monorail Nearing Completion by OgidiBoy(m): 1:13am On Apr 28, 2011 |
It sure will be nice if we have the Electricity to power the Monorail |
Re: Port Harcourt Monorail Nearing Completion by ezeagu(m): 1:14am On Apr 28, 2011 |
OgidiBoy: That's true, but I haven't read anything on power yet. |
Re: Port Harcourt Monorail Nearing Completion by EzeUche3(m): 1:15am On Apr 28, 2011 |
OgidiBoy: Well I know Amaechi is working on increasing power within his state. Rivers will probably be one of the first Nigerian states to have non stop power. And it is understandable, because the state is blessed with a lot of oil. |
Re: Port Harcourt Monorail Nearing Completion by auwal87(m): 1:18am On Apr 28, 2011 |
Dis Guy: Dubai was promised this one If you see the one done, you will never see the difference, even though the above is an illustration Why would PHC get something else |
Re: Port Harcourt Monorail Nearing Completion by Kobojunkie: 1:28am On Apr 28, 2011 |
OgidiBoy: Most rail projects include their own mini power stations. I believe the company that is in charge of this project has that taken care of. |
Re: Port Harcourt Monorail Nearing Completion by EzeUche3(m): 1:29am On Apr 28, 2011 |
Kobojunkie: Kobojunkie did not say a disparaging remark about this project? I am impressed! |
Re: Port Harcourt Monorail Nearing Completion by Obiagu1(m): 2:02am On Apr 28, 2011 |
Good stuff and good they selected electric driven train because it's clean, light, and quieter. |

Re: Port Harcourt Monorail Nearing Completion by GAR3TH(m): 3:59am On Apr 28, 2011 |
The monorail will have its own power station that will produce 24 hour electricity just for the trains. The system covers approx. twenty kilometres within the city of Port Harcourt, serving 14 stations between Aggrey Rd. and the loop North/East of the Garrison station. The Rivers monorail will be using the Intamin P30 Monorail Train, the same type used in Moscow Russia Monorail system. The Infrastructure will also have the same design as the Moscow's monorail network. Below are pictures of Moscow's Monorail system, the same design that is under construction in PH |
Re: Port Harcourt Monorail Nearing Completion by OAM4J: 4:22am On Apr 28, 2011 |
Am impressed! This kind of development is what we need across Nigeria. |
Re: Port Harcourt Monorail Nearing Completion by jensinmi(m): 5:14am On Apr 28, 2011 |
OAM4J: Well, not necessarily across Nigeria. Maybe Lagos, Port Harcourt and a few other cities. Certainly not Ado-Ekiti |
Re: Port Harcourt Monorail Nearing Completion by otokx(m): 5:36am On Apr 28, 2011 |
plenty of lies, do not be deceived, not much on ground, nepa is worse than before. 10 minutes of electricity in 3 days. |
Re: Port Harcourt Monorail Nearing Completion by THEAMAKA(f): 5:41am On Apr 28, 2011 |
otokx:read the other posts. the electricity being used to power these trains does not have anything to do with NEPA. @topic, nice nice. Port Harcourt is FAST coming up. seems like a really good place to invest, just wish things were less expensive. |
Re: Port Harcourt Monorail Nearing Completion by otokx(m): 5:49am On Apr 28, 2011 |
amaka do not be deceived, port harcourt is not as cool as they are saying here, this monorail will not be ready anytime soon. |
Re: Port Harcourt Monorail Nearing Completion by texazzpete(m): 6:23am On Apr 28, 2011 |
Is everyone blind? Take a look at those pictures in the OP. Which one of those indicates 'nearly completed' to you? Amaechi is doing ok, we do not need praise singers in Rivers State. Let him do his work without this undue butt kissing. |
Re: Port Harcourt Monorail Nearing Completion by EzeUche3(m): 6:27am On Apr 28, 2011 |
texazzpete: Yet people want to kiss Fashola's arse about projects he is implementing? |
Re: Port Harcourt Monorail Nearing Completion by texazzpete(m): 6:38am On Apr 28, 2011 |
EzeUche__: What Fashola is doing does not influence my life in any meaningful way. I am merely speaking out against lies and misinformation. If anyone can take a look at the completed monorail renders and then insist that the present status as depicted in the OP is anywhere near completion, that person needs to visit an optometrist. |
Re: Port Harcourt Monorail Nearing Completion by otokx(m): 10:34am On Apr 28, 2011 |
Amaechi has completed some Primary Health Centers and Primary Schools, he is doing a lot of roads but none yet complete, the monorail is not complete. |
Re: Port Harcourt Monorail Nearing Completion by Bawss1(m): 11:17am On Apr 28, 2011 |
texazzpete: Nah Fashola should be commended, when most of his projects are completed your subsequent visit to Lagos might actually be a pleasant experience. |
