The Honorable Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Glory Edet, was today sighted at Idongesit Nkanga Secretariat, Uyo, selling Garri to Uyo residents who turned out in their numbers to buy the product which is currently being sold there at 3 cups for N100 as against N100 per cup in the market.

This gesture is a follow-up to an interactive session she held alongside the Honorable Commissioner for Investment, Commerce, and Industry, Prince Ukpong Akpabio, and SA to Governor on Trade and Market Matters, Idorenyin Raphael, yesterday with traders and market leaders regarding the price hike in food and essential commodities, across the state.

At the parley, Dr. Edet, said that the Governor Udom Emmanuel-led administration is committed to making life easy and meaningful for the people, hence the Governor's commendable efforts towards making the state food sufficient.

She said Government has been touched by the plight of the populace brought about by the slight increment in the price of Garri and other food commodities and has swung into action to ameliorate the unsavory situation.

She advised traders and market leaders to support the efforts of government to bring succor to the people by allowing dealers of food items to bring in their products at will, especially Garri, which is one of the most consumed commodities in the state.

Total and intentional political deceit.
This so called commissioner for Agriculture along her Governor are deceiving the people.
So,if you buy garri in bags from states producing,call press and start selling it cheap to the few around,what happens to the others who it will not reach?.
Instead of looking for a way to produce exportable quantity,they are busy deceiving the people with garri bought from outside the state.
