The same government paying ransom to free kidnapped girls and boys in the north is the one proposing a ban on ransom payment, even this same senator proposing this useless bill will not hesitate to pay ransom should his son or daughter be kidnapped today.

Until the security agencies are able to handle the worsening Insecurity in Nigeria, government at all levels must continue to pay ransom to secure the release of innocent victims.

However, the bill can't have any effect on nigerian citizens when the government is doing nothing to curb the spate of kidnapping in our environs. The United Kingdom is operating far beyond Nigeria in terms of security. They enforce such law because they love their citizens and they can do anything to protect them. There are high tech security measures to track the abductors. Here in Nigeria, our government are the first to bail the abducted through huge sum of money. Don't put the cat before the horse. Implementing this won't stop abduction, it will rather put the kidnapped at risk of loosing their lives to these miscreants.
