One of the dominant arguments concerning the validity of Christianity is whether or not God gave man Free will or not.

The question is did God give man the power of Free will?
Meaning God cannot force man to do whatever he does not want to do.

Or does God have the power to supersede man's freewill and force him to do whatever he pleases?

There are scriptural references supporting man's freewill.
And there are scriptural references supporting God superceding man's freewill.

What is your position with scriptural references.

We have answered this question before and you could not fault it but I understand that you seek the frail and unfounded whom you could put under trial and fire in your own thread!

Since your answer on this discussion has been noted, you can scurry off now.
This thread is for civilized discussion and not for those who can't discuss rationally without resorting to curses and invective.

Wicked and Evil man!

How was Paul's conversion against his freewill? Eh, Wicked soul!

Was it not rather that Paul was Killing the Lord which caused the Lord to confront him? And that his blindness was to Stop him? And when he saw it was the Lord he was Killing whom he wrongly thought he stood for, that he repented of his evil and rather now rightly stood for the Lord thenceforth?

You are indeed an Evil Wicked Soul fit for the Bin!

You did not create yourself like your phone, car, table, robot and all the the things you have created, which did not create themselves either.

So like your phone, chair and robot, so do they have freewill? No

You being like them, do you have freewill? Yes!

Why and what is the difference?

Freewill is A Gift Given by Creators to their "toys" called creations.

Freewill is A Permission to Do something of your own choosing.

Freewill is what we call Rights!

Thus, while your own Creator gave you Rights and Permissions, you did not give your own "toys" Rights.

So Freewill is Only as Free in the Area A Creator has Given Freedom to a certain creation!

Eg No man has the Freewill to Fly as a bird" exactly as your phone, car, mannequin does not have the freewill to fly also!

That is the True place of freewill! And I told you so only few days back!

The point is according to the bible, God gave man dominion on earth.
He gave man free will to choose between Life and Death. Deuteronomy 30:19

1. Which is why he could not stop Adam and Eve from eating of the tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil.

2. Which is why there is so much evil in the world because man chooses to continue in sin.

3. Which is why he can not force any one to serve him.

4. Which is why to redeem the sin of Adam and Eve, he had to sacrifice his Son Jesus Christ to save man instead of simply stopping man from committing sin.

But also according to the bible there are instances where God superseded man's freewill.
1. When Jesus blinded Paul on his way to persecute Christians in Damascus for him to accept him as Lord.

2. When God drove King Nebuchadnezzar out of men to live like an animal for years until he accepted God as Most High.

3. When God sent a storm and whale to swallow up Jonah till he accepted to deliver his message.

4. When the bible said God hardened the hearts of men so that his would prevail.

That is the Command of Freewill given to creations which you did not give to your own creation.

Which is why you have the power and right to do your own will.

But you are forgetting that He Too has the Power and Right to do His Own Will Too.

Exactly! In Exercise of His Power and Right to Do His Own Will Too.

Abi, is it because He gave you freewill, His Own Freewill don loss? grin

Does God not have His Own Freewill and Should He not have?

Una funny O grin Una think say na only una get freewill and fit exercise freewill! grin

Una funny die! grin

God gave mankind freewill to a large extent {Genesis 2:17} but the ability to distinguish between what is good and evil solely depends on God not man's discretion! Jeremiah 10:23
For instance choice in colours, shape, food, clothing, recreation, sexuality (between husband and wife) profession and so on is man's own decision but making decisions for fellow humans (setting rules for others) is not permitted {Matthew 7:1} all of us both young or old, male or female must concur to God's judicial decisions regarding standards.
Deuteronomy 6:6-7

That is the point where freewill ends!
If you diligently study what has been causing wars and genocides on this planet you'll realize that it's due to how some people are trying to dominate other people. Ecclesiastes 4:1;8:9
So God promised that people throughout the earth will notice His true worshipers as He use His Holy Spirit to bring them together from different races throughout the globe {Micah 4:1} they will all depend on His standards and use it to settle all their differences {Micah 4:2} instead of building destructive weapons they will use their God's given resources to make foods in abundance both physically and spiritually. They will not raise weapons against anyone again neither will they learn war anymore! Micah 4:3
So as long as humans still want to rule themselves by using man-made doctrines and traditions, there will always be contradictions here and there {Luke 11:23} except amongst God's own people! John 17:20-23

May you have PEACE! smiley

Freewill is basically ability to make decisions independently. It doesn't mean there are no consequences though.

Lol. Do you believe that God micro!-manages the affairs of man?
Like he decides who the president is, who the terrorists are, what would happen next etc.

Or is man in total control of what happens on earth?
And every event is simply a result of man's cause and effect? Man's choices.

1. Reading through the same bible, you quickly learn that indeed the heart of the king(one who leads or rules over other men) is in the hands of God....He turned it whichever way He chooses. This however, does not mean that God decides the king an end of His own choosing... that decision remains in the hand of the king. undecided

2) God rules over all those who belong to Him, but again, the decision as to where they end up is in their hands, and not in God's hands. undecided

3. Your "freewill" is as free as you can make it for yourself. The less impact your existence has on others, the freer you find it is. undecided

Let us make man in our own image...."Let them have dominion"..does that not answer it...

I stated examples when God intervened.
Paul's conversion
King Nebuchadnezzar's "conversion"

Abd several other biblical examples where God's intervention according to the bible tipped the scale.
