To say Muslims should not partake in the global democratic surge will be seen as a call to backwardness and retrogression. Democracy has come to lord over the world as the only viable option of governance which no alternative can be thought of. As beautiful as the call to democracy might be, the core teachings of Islam say it has no place in its ranks and that it is of no goodness for Islâm and the Muslims.
