Nobody should disturb the VP biko. The VP takes order from the presidency. He can't just go on official function without the presidency approval. Since his boss didn't attend and didn't want to send him,my guy just respected himself and kept quiet.

The Chief of Army Staff of a country dies while on official assignment. The Commander in Chief of the armed forces did not deem it fit to attend the funeral and pay his last respects. The Attorney General of the country threw a wedding party that was attended by top government functionaries including state governor's who had photo ops showing them laughing and having a good time. What manner of men are these? What manner of country is this? This is nothing short of irresponsibility occasioned by dementia and an acute disconnect from the reality of life. Any country whose destiny is in the hands of such people is doomed.

Just to be clear. Jonathan was absent at Yar'adua's burial. General Abdulsalam was absent at Abacha's burial. All these burials all have one thing in common, they happened in less than 24 hours. Too short a time for the DSS to plan their itinerary. Being a President is not child's play. Buhari has been a target for assassination even as far back as 2014 in Kaduna when his convoy was attacked. The risk is higher now than then.

In some tribes, if people that are younger than you died, you are forbidden from attending their burial ceremony. I know this is applicable in many parts of Yoruba land, I don't know if it's same in Hausa/Fulani tribe. Also, some individuals must not be present in tragic events, If they do, more tragic occurrence is inevitable. Yes we have people like that. We never can tell, PMB may fall into one of these categories. What do I know sha?

In a case where the COAS and his team died yesterday and had to be hurriedly buried today, you don't expect the President to go there where there is no security clearance.

The minimum time of 48 hours wasn't met. In insecurity parlance, funeral ceremonies are where politically exposed persons faces more risks.

GEJ could attend Azazi’s burial because it wasn't done within 24 hours.

Security issues and securing the president are not done by emotions or sentiments. There’re laid down procedures that must be followed.

In the US, soldiers who die at the battlefront, the president attends their burial at Arlington.
Think about that.

I see a lot of times people ask Nigerians to be patriotic and support the armed forces in the fight against insurgency even with their abysmal human rights record against same Nigerians.
The least patriotic act the president can show is to physically pay the last respect to his chief army officer who died in active duty.
