Pls. I need to ask this question.
Does deferring normally comes with re application fee?
It shouldn't.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 19 by elenewton1: 10:56am On Jul 25, 2021
1. It's not an issue. Just give the guys at the luggage end of the airport #500 and they will wrap it for you with cellotape.

2. The major challenge about the 2-hour layover is that due to covid checks and other checks (issuing study permit et al), and especially during this busy period of student resumption, the checking queue might be so long and could take hours to get to your turn.
So it's advisable to have a longer layover period to avoid missing your connecting flight.
All the best.

limitless:
I have two urgent questions.

1) Does Lufthansa allow woven bag (Ghana must go) baggage?

2) Is it advisable to book a flight (Lagos to Toronto), but the flight has a scheduled 2hrs layover at Montreal before arriving in Toronto?

Please / Biko / Ẹdakun / DanAllah

No you wouldn't have to pay another application fee for deferring. Order your GCMS notes before you re-apply so you can tackle any concerns raised by the VO. Don't give up, there a several that have walked this path and it ended in praise for them.

I need someone to help me on the GCMS..... Biko

@lekiboboe please my gcms note come back blank. No pre assessment note. Sent web form last week. Eligibility started Wednesday with one ghost update. Also got a letter from Nairobi. My application in under review but can say when decision will be made... just generic letter.. And I am to resume Aug 13th... April 24th applicant.
Await response from the gurus as regards your blank GCMS notes

Your application is 13 weeks old and have passed standard processing time. This time around be more strategic in your webform contents/mail to IRCC. Tell them to expedite your application cos it has passed standard processing time & you are resuming August 13th etc.

Pls how does one prove family ties.

I only submitted my dad’s NIN
And filled names of my siblings in my IMM form

Secondly, I ignored request for IELTS cos my school waiver IELTS, can I send an English proficiency letter to substitute IELTS? And how do I send it, through webform?

So many things can serve as home tie; Immediate family, present job, business, community involvement, establishment and properties. Whichever out of the aforementioned should be fleshed in the SOP. In your case, it's family and it's good.

Secondly, the english proficiency letter and a well constructed letter of explanation stating why the requested IELTS wasn't submitted will definitely do.

I wish you the very best, it will end in praise.

Lekiboboe:

You are welcome Chief.

Of a truth, the Non-STEM graduates I have seen so far that got Fully-funded Graduate offer from Canadian & US Universities are those in
- History
- International Relations
- Political Science
- Language & Linguistics etc.

I haven't really come across Non-STEM in Management areas that got Fully-funded Graduate offer in a Canadian or US universities.

But I feel the possible game changer for you is if you can tailor your Non-STEM Management Research Interests to STEM cos have seen posts on twitter whereby some two guys in Banking & Finance field have to tailor their Research to STEM , which enabled them get a Fully-funded Graduate offer.

How can you do that?

Since you specialise in Finance & your Research interests are on
- Corporate finance and investment banking or international finance, if you are skilled in Data Analytics (Python, SQL, R-progam, Advanced Excel, SAS etc.), you can easily go for RESEARCH INTERESTS in Business Analytics, cos your skills in Business Analytics can be applied to Corporate Financing, investment banking , international finance

You can go through the Post in the link below, you might find it helpful

If you are interested in MSC or PHD in Business Analytics in Canadian Universities
https://www.nairaland.com/6567181/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/340#103603240

How you come up with these things still baffles me, honestly. You're such a gem, chief.

Can I submit my Visa application without my parents marriage certificate?

Parent's marriage certificate is insignificant in this case.

My port of entry is Toronto, then I would book a local ticket to Ontario. That’s what someone told me though. Using wakanow app. Is that okay or is there another you know about I can use?
Checking Ethiopian airlines, there would be a stop over at addis ababa, and Dublin. Hope that’s not a problem. I won’t need a visa for those country right?

I am preparing to write my IELTS, please can anyone that has done it before share me some pdf or whatever that can be helpful in passing it!
And is it compulsory to order for GCMS notes since I my student visa was rejected 6 months ago based on me not leaving Canada at the end of my study because of my personal assets and financial status.

Thanks

Try IELTS LIZZY
The refusal reasons are simple and straight forward but it's always better to request for the gcms note and I think you should.

Thank you very much.

To support my family ties, I wanted to send my dad’s old contract award letter with the state government, his company’s CAC and the particulars of directors to prove he owns the company and has handled a top government contract, meanwhile this is the same company where I work and My dad isn’t funding my education. Will this raise a red flag?

Secondly, I want to attach birth certificates of my siblings, but not all are available. Should I go ahead with the ones I have or just skip this.
