Meninmen:Did you read to understand? How old are you? Why do I need to read the Russian statement ? Did it not happen before our eyes? Is scrambling jets that which defines legality or morality? What does it matter whether you rob with an axe, gun or laptop? The point is that a Presidential plane was detained and searched illegally? Whoever does that does not stand on moral high ground The US case is worse actually . You are entitled to scramble whatever you like in your own country perfectly legal. |

Quelme: US and their allies will call it security measures whereas they are harassing their opponent but it is tyranny if done by their enemy. Till date I still don't know the offence of Gaddafi, Libya hope you are enjoying your democratic government?? |

ntyce: But it’s not wrong when US and Europe do the same, right? Read a long history of Western hijack of airplanes to make arrest: https://www.moonofalabama.org/2021/05/lukashenkos-revenge-served-cold.html#more |

Meninmen: Which is worse, Forceful diversion of an aircraft to Canada to make arrest? Closure of all airspace to an airborne plane carrying a president (Bolivian president) and forcing the plane to land to search and make arrest? In 1957 French authorities diverted a Morocco-Spain Air Maroc flight to Algiers. Algerian independence leader Ahmed Ben Bella (based in MA) was on board. Air Maroc was mostly French-owned. ABB was jailed in Algiers but became the first President of Algeria 5 years later. In 2012 Turkey forced down a Syrian passenger plane flying from Moscow to Damascus to search it for weapons. None were found. |

owagbeba: Please read before commenting. It will help you alot. This argument is about the US. It's not about France or Turkey. The only of your post that seems to relate to the US is the first paragraph of your comment. Please, which country diverted a plane to Canada to make arrest? If you are talking about Meng Wanzhou, the Chief financial officer of Huawei, then please be informed that her aircraft was not diverted. She frequently visits Canada and have family members in Canada. It was on her routine visit to Canada that she was detained. Her aircraft was not diverted to Canada. You will need to provide evidence that it was the US that asked Italy, Spain, Portugal and France to close their airspace to the Bolivian's president plane. |

omonnakoda: It was the last paragraph of your statement that made me confirm that you don't know what you are talking about. I repeat, the US has never used a fighter jet to flag down an airborne COMMERCIAL plane using a false bomb alert, just for the sake of arresting an individual. If understanding is your problem, you can't be helped. Go look for someone else who you would argue morality and legality with! |

Meninmen:What does it matter whether you kill with a sword or an axe. Scrambling jets is not the issue Was it lawful? A country has every right to enforce the law in their airspace. They have given their reasons which are plausible and lawful It is your opinion that there was a FALSE bomb alert On the other hand forcing a presidential plane to land and searching it is unlawful. Whether that is achieved by scrambling eggs, jets or witches is a moot point |

Meninmen: In 2010 the U.S. wanted to arrest a man who was on a flight from France to Mexico. On U.S. instigation the plane was diverted to Canada where the man was arrested and later transferred to the U.S. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/aeromexico-flight-diverted-passenger-arrested/ |
