If she’s the one chairing the committee, then it’s perfectly in order for her to hold the gavel.

Price regulation of commodities. A seller or service provider shouldn't just be charging prices that don't correlate with cost of rendition

You can’t get a referendum without amending the current constitution.

Southern elites in power are truly stupid. Who told them constitution review would guarantee their people safety and socio-economic advancement if they review the zoological constitution?. Hausa-Fulani threw a bone in form of constitution review to them and they are already gnashing at it like zombies. They seems to forget that Hausa-Fulani knows nothing than Jihad, nepotism, tribalism, religious bigotry and perpetual illiteracy which won't do the least part of the south any good. The southern elites better use their head and call for a peaceful referendum and exit this zoo. I pity their generations.

Thinking:

This process happens roughly every 4 years, why don't the people that offer suggestions on Nairaland attend the public hearings and send in memos so that their suggestions can be heard?

Two days? With that kind of hall and heavy security arrangement how can you gain access? It should have been for two weeks.

Many won't show up now that they have an opportunity to make inputs to the constitution.
Immediately the event ends, they are back on Twitter to make ignorant assertions about the
constitution and offer "best" ideas on how to fix it.
Do you think they want to hear from average Nigerians? How will a 2-day meeting grasp the concerns of over 200m Nigerians? Lagos alone doesn't have any space for its 20m lagosians to meet and let their views be heard.

Plus, will these politicians sit in same room with the masses? So, they are deceiving one another because they already know what they want to do and dont need any input from the masses.

It will be a shame if 2021 constitution is created from a rushed 2 day workshop with inputs from only selected elites.

1) It's 2 days for the zonal public hearing. State houses of assembly will also have public hearings and there will be public hearings in Abuja.

2) It is a public hearing, which means that members of the public are expected to attend.

3) Even if, for some reason you cannot attend, you can also send in memoranda. https://paradigmhq.org/submitting-a-memo-to-the-national-assembly-10-things-you-must-know/

They do this process almost every 4 years and it's usually well publicised. Everybody should know what it entails by now.

Why not draft a constitution in line with proper regionalism? This therefore suggest the need to first restructure the system.

Constitution of the Tinubus....

They are joking. Real Constitution review should be transparent. All those in that hall from a particular side of the government. If they want to do review, they will announce a public invitation of all stakeholders from all facets and they will publish the names of those that have seek to attend the public hearing. It will be done in a public space with all the security apparatus to prevent breakdown of law and order, then most probably broadcasted live so that other Nigerians can participate through a feedback channel. Not the one you invite your party members and then start doing banana meeting calling it a public hearing.

Na for one of these Lagos house dem dey do this meeting where only governor and his cronies are only invited.

This is one of the results. This was pushed by civil society groups that attended several hearings. It was not pushed by politicians. The people knew what they wanted and pushed for it.
