BREAKING: Five soldiers feared dead as unknown gunmen strike again in ImoPublished on May 28, 2021By Adindu Obialor


At least five soldiers are said to have been shot dead along Wetheral Road Owerri in Imo State as unknown gunmen attacked the area.

The incident happened in the late hours of Friday.

This is coming few days before the May 30th seat-at-home order given by the leader of Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, in commemoration of the Biafra Day.


According to an eyewitness, the bandits took the soldiers unaware and opened fire on them, killing five at a spot.

“Right now, five soldiers have been shot dead. Everyone is on the run. Wetheral Road, Nazi/Aba road, Government House Roundabout and all the link roads have been shut down.

“I personally saw the soldiers evacuating the corpses in a Hilux vehicle, there were five.

“The bandits have already taken off and shot sporadically in the air to scare people away.”


The Imo State Police Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana’s number was not reachable as at the time of filing this report.

Please, the youths in Owerri should be careful of their movements around the area.

Don't be surprised to hear tomorrow that the unknown gunmen that killed five soldiers have be killed and some guns hanged on them.

The fallen soldiers should rest in peace. My father is a soldier and I have many officers as friends. So, the government should try and make peace because I can't afford to be losing on both sides. My Igbo youths and military friends. Make peace now.

I watched a video on Facebook this morning where a white lady was claiming to be representing biafra revolutionary forces BRF she said that they are the unknown gun men responsible for all the killing of police men and burning of inec offices in the south east that biafrans should not panick that they are not after civilians but after nigerian security agents and infrastructures.
