with the current arrangement, Nigeria can never grow and the underdevelopment in Nigeria today was what the declaration tried to prevent but the lack of foresight of the biafran neighbours helped the Nigerian government to kill Biafra.

Even without the declaration, there would still have been pain. The declaration was only to save those in the eastern region from this pains being experienced but since the british and the Nigerian government failed to let Biafra go, we all are still in the problem. And if things are not changed today, the pain will remain and can only force a final breakup
