Hmm... I really get what she's getting though. But there's two sides to this. If it's part of what she signed up for, then she's has to meet the obligations. On the other hand, sport associations globally are all about the money and don't care about the athletes because they feel the money they get covers up for all the stress and things they go through. So in a way, I stand with her and I think the other athletes who aren't all about the money would stand with her too.

Those interviews are paid for by media companies and not taking part in it means a loss to them. Do you know that media sponsors pay millions for those interview. She signed to abide by the rules when she became a member of the association and should stick to the terms of her contract. The money she is paid as an association of tennis member is not coming from the air, you can't hate the hen and still eat her eggs. She should thread with caution and know that the media agencies are a powerful tool in her choice of trade and can cause a lot of trouble for her should she be perceived as a threat to their business.

They will take care of her in any form in respect to mental health. The system needs her more than she needs them. It the kind of trade she is involved with. When you grant these interviews, they use it follow up on you and update you on so many things. They practically design her life but don't own her. Terms and conditions.
This is why miss world are always won by women that are smart. They try to engage you to know your level of emotional intelligent(competence level) and personality. They keep them sane from the world they are in with these conditions. Social change is a whirlwind and will always come to clean the society. With modifications and common ground discoveries, we can always embrace such changes and consider the outcome after dialogue and compromise.

Ogbeni, you're just being unnecessarily emotional. Most athletics don't like interviews, especially after a loss. But its a routine they're bound to fulfill whether it pleases them or not because it's where the bulk of the money they're paid comes from.

Serena has broken down in tears during interview sessions countless number of times. She has even walked out of an interview once. But it didn't stop her from apologizing and honoring subsequent interviews.

And you can't impose on media the kinda questions you want to be asked. They live and earn from juicy and controversial topics.

If you aren't please with a question asked, you can simply decline to respond and move on to the next question.

Interviews are simply an obligatory routine you're bound to perform as an athlete.

All these wouldn't have been necessary if she had pulled out of the match/event citing mental health. Why would mental health allow you play the match because of the money she would get from it but wouldn't be able to grant interviews where sponsors and brands get money?

Be sincere in your judgement and put aside emotions and bias.

Mental health is not an excuse if you've been paid, the media houses and investors have their own problems too but they Still provided her with a platform to showcase her talents.
From the comments here i now know why women set up business and it fails, within years too much emotion when rational decisions are to be taken. They should sue her.
