A lot of theories have been going on surrounding the death of Nigeria's former chief of Staff, General Attahiru, and basically, the general story is that the former Army Chief was killed in a targeted conspiracy and this much has been confirmed by Nigeria's investigative journalist, Kemi Olunloyo.

She went on to talk about the alleged issues and activities that reportedly led to his death. See screenshots from her Tweets below:

Who no know that one before? Not attending his burial was a signal sent to any one intending to betray the presidency i guess.

We know already. It was a pure case of assassination but the Fulani government will try and change the narrative.

no any big secret there.

those in the know knows exactly what happened that's why they did not take his death as anything serious - as they all went about their daily affairs while some where even dancing to nairamarley! cheesy

the COAS said shekau has served his term that he should be decommissioned - he insisted that the younger ones ably led by Barnawi can do the job well. but the cabals insisted that Shekau is much more preferred bc he is loyal and obedient. the cabals insisted that barnawi will be too difficult to control whn he becomes the Amir. They said Barmawi is overly ambitious.

But Atahiru sees barnawi as his boy and was insistent on decommissioning shekau.

After much argument, the COAS felt as he is now the oga patapa for army, he can do and undo - especially as he knows that the oga on top is suffering from dementia and is not in control of the country.

He called his boy barnawi and gave him the oder to go to samibsa and tell shekau to handover to him. after a little squabble, shekau surrendered as he was already having serious health challenges that left him crippled.

He was deported to central africa with all his family and some of his most loyal boys. He is still alive today- forget all the media cooked up stories that doesn't even make sense. (i mean how can a man try to kill himself when he was already surrounded and asked to surrender - and on failing to kill himself, his boys took him and ran away! Took him and ran away when he was already surrounded by his attackers and the attackers just fold their hands and turn their back and let his boys take him and escape! cheesy grin )

Anyways, the cabals where not happy with the COAS's action and they therefore decommissioned him by sending him to go and answer some questions from Allah. NO BE ME TALK AM OO!
