Ok... and you think Russia is a match for all NATO countries and the US combined? I don't think that would be a great assumption.

This is a coalition and the only reasonable thing for Russia now is to assemble thier own allies cause they simply do not have the economy to fight a coalition led by the greatest economies in the world. And history has shown wars are primarily about the resources (economy). But then again, countries don't easily join thier allies in wars in this modern century due the complex interdependent network of nations these days. So allies that would agree to fight alongside Russia against the US and the entire NATO countries must weigh thier options carefully in terms of possible gains and losses both during and after the war.

Going through some comments above shows that you guys have little or no knowledge about what the international System is all about. All these are mere show off, propaganda or deterrence depending on your perspective and it's allowed, they're aware that Putin is a former KGB and won't even be moved. Russia is a super power and a major player in the 'rough' game of international relations. Firing a single shell by mistake into the Russian territory would automatically trigger and activate all nuclear silos in Russia and other nuclear power nations would be of high alert as well because we're in a period of MAD i.e Mutually Assured Destruction..... USA possesses the highest number of nuclear bombs and fighter jets but Russia has the most devastating one that is bigger and size and would cover about 50 of USA's bomb by radius.... Any air attack is not even possible coz of their THAAD, SDI, MIRV etc systems......
All these show offs are normal in the international space

I think you are the one not sound in history. You are talking of Napoleonic wars. Nazi Germany was killing people in St. Petersburg and Stalingrad. If not for the winter and the British and American factor in that war. Nazi Germany would have swept Russia away. The Japanese had earlier defeated the Russians few years back.

Russia cannot attack a Nato member. The consequences are too severe
