Cardinal Francis Arinze has warned agitators of a Sovereign Biafran nation to desist from don’t dragging the Pope of Rome into the Biafran struggle, saying that the Pope will not join the Biafran struggle.

Cardinal Arinze made the remarks when one of the agitators visited him in Rome to solicit for the support of the Papacy for the Biafra struggle.

Reacting, the Cardinal told him that the Biafra struggle is not a mandate of the Catholic Papacy and that it won’t get involved.

He advised the agitators to go and join a political movement through which they may achieve a referendum that will enable them vote for a sovereign Biafra.

According to Wikipedia, he was Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments from 2002 to 2008.

Bottom line: he does not believe in Nigeria, otherwise he wouldn't have been in support of, or thinking of a referendum. I have never seen any reasonable person who's not thinking of a way to disassociate from the coven called Nigeria. He didn't condemn the quest for Biafra.
