The recent pronouncement of the Ban on Twitter by the Federal Government of Nigeria will undoubtedly affect many businesses and organizations who rely on this social media platform to promote their brand, reach their clients/customers and make money to continue to be in business.

It has come as a shock to many who never thought it could happen.

It has happened, and it also shows that the government can wake up one morning and decide to place restrictions on any social media platforms that she feels have violated the government law.

So if you think you still have Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Tiktok, and the likes. For how long?.

It will interest you to know that Nigeria is not the only country where Twitter is banned.
Tanzania placed a ban on all social media platforms during the election in 2020 through the ISP's while Tanzania has Open all other social media platforms Twitter remains Ban.

China has since blocked Twitter, same as North Korea, Iran and some other countries.
Placing censorship on any social media platforms by the government is very much possible, and Nigeria is no exception.

The wisdom behind the ban action and next move, especially as a business owner:
As a business owner who uses any of these platforms to promote your products or services, it is wise to learn from the government's action by not relying on these platforms as the only Lifeline for the survival of your business.

Therefore I will encourage you to take following actions towards having a sustainable business irrespective of any ban.....

The Nigeria government is just good at dishing out 101 ways of frustrating business owners. What doesn't kill us will surely make us stronger. It's well.
