Because African leaders go abroad to receive treatment. Ask them why don't they treat themselves in Nigeria. Obviously African countries are third world countries who are only good at embezzling money. superstar1: |

Re: FG Gives Condition To Lift Ban On Twitter by superstar1(m): 7:45pm On Jun 07, 2021 |
zoedew: How is FG losing money? Pls explain. Is Twitter paying tax in Nigeria? Or is whatever we even agree we are losing in monetary terms not better than the lives we can lose if the platform is allowed to be used to destabilize the nation leading to war and destruction as seen in Libya and Syria? |
Re: FG Gives Condition To Lift Ban On Twitter by omonnakoda: 7:46pm On Jun 07, 2021 |
ifiokjohn:Even if it is true It won't last for ever and we may get a 10 billion a day deal if we had a Nigerian company instead. It is the job of such a company to lobby for a robust legal framework to protect their interest Imagine a Nigerian start up replacing Twitter . That is the opportunity We do not need Twitter. We can do better Buhari is a passing phase. but this is a trade opportunity FOR US Twitter does not have any rights in Nigeria if it des not register here and pay taxes. We must be firm on that. We cannot have any OUTLAW MEDIA. What we need to work on is to reduce government powers if that is what we all want |

superstar1:E-commerce has become a veritable source of enhancing trade across borders. That is grounded as we speak. FDI will be looking away from Nigeria. There is no proof offered by FG in proof Twitter is irresponsible in allowing comments to be twitted that is capable of destabilising Nigeria. If by that is meant comments expressing holding government to account, gross dissatisfaction with Government and canvassing for self-determination then the position of the FG is misplaced. Freedom is akin to smoke - it will find expression sooner than later when it becomes ignited by the tension of the gag! |
Re: FG Gives Condition To Lift Ban On Twitter by superstar1(m): 8:12pm On Jun 07, 2021 |
zoedew: E-commerce takes place on homepage of vendors, IG, FB and WhatsApp. With Twitter being the 6th used Social Media App in Nigeria, the impact is less significant in comparison with the aforementioned E-commerce platform. 2ndly, which investor uses Twitter to form an opinion. They will rather consult CNBC, Bloomberg, major international Banks in the country and the big 4 consulting firms for serious investment decision and advisory services. Your position holds no ground on that and is mere propaganda. If you are really serious with that your assertion that Twitter is not being used to prompt violence and war against the state, contravening Article 20 of UN Charter, then you are likely to be a sparing user of Twitter. |

Eriokanmi: Nigeria and her economy will survive without twitter, that's my point. The contribution of twitter to Nigeria economy if there is at all, is infinitesimal. We need to stop all these exaggeration. We have to have a country first. |

omonnakoda:Are you seriously kidding me here? Say Koo is here..are they a Nigerian company? And how long do you think it will take before the Nigerian company get to the position Twitter are in Nigeria. Imfact the Southerners Ard mostly the ones on Twitter I'm pretty sure we will reject that nonsense especially if it from the north. And by the way, you're right. Buhari won't be there for ever.. he'll be out in two years and another party will come. I'm sure there will lift that ban. What I pray more is that they should jail people like Lai Mohammed, Garba shehu, adesina etc. Find a fault and jail them if the court grant them bail then be like APC and keep them in jail without trials just like they are doing to others |
