What is the best career book you have ever read?

For me, the best career book I have read and will recommend to anyone is : "So Good They Can't Ignore You" by Cal NewPort.

The book is very unique in various ways and I will recommend it to anyone who aspires to get a high paying job that they will also enjoy

It tears down the worn out myth of plain 'follow your passion' which is a worn out platitude.

First, it explain with proven scientific research and records why the advice of 'follow your passion is a dangerous advice'. This may not be a popular ideology, but the insight of this research presentation alone is worth all the money you will pay for the book. It leads you to the conclusion that you should do what Steve Jobs did, rather than do what he said on the follow your passion hypothesis.

It introduces another concept called 'the craftsman mindset' which is a superior mindset for getting the job you love, and then it teaches you how to become a true craftsman.

It examines the traits of a job that you enjoy!
What makes a job enjoyable? Have you ever pondered the answer to that question?
The answer to that alone is worth more than any amount you spend on getting the book!

Cal Newport explains how to develop yourself as an expert craftsman, and then he explains how to cash-in or transact that skill of a craftsman into the job you love!
