Former Nigeria’s President, Olusegun Obasanjo has called for renewed hope and patriotism amongst Nigerians. He made the call during the strategic session with members of the national working committee of Team New Nigeria, a good governance and social advocacy group at His Abeokuta residence.

The session focused on the need to build a strong national narrative for the promotion of peace, national unity and patriotism in the course of which the former president reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to one Nigeria driven by balance, shared prosperity, national integration and mutual understanding across tribes, social class, religious and political inclination.

The elder statesman further pledged to be on standby at all time to offer necessary advice, counsel and guidance as they all form part of His commitment to making Nigeria a great nation it was originally designed to be.

President of Team New Nigeria, Dr. Moddibo Farakwai reiterated that Team New Nigeria is determined to lead from the front via consultations, dialogue and engagements with relevant nation builders, statesmen and leaders of thought who share the ideals of the founding fathers of Nigeria as means of influencing the leadership process.

Also insisting that a Nigeria where citizens live in peace, maximize their potentials and contribute to nation building is possible, National Publicity Secretary of the group, Dr. Mohammed Shaibu said that the group is committed to building a brand new Nigeria devoid of hate, strife, political extremism and religious intolerance.

Team New Nigeria also took the chance to formally notify former President Obasanjo of its coming book launch which is part of a national roll out plan that will set the ball rolling for mass mobilization of Nigerians across all zones.
