I remembered when Bayelsa was about to be formed, it was formerly planned to be called Abayelsa.
Ahoada as the Capital, no wonder Ijaws secede some of their people to Ekpeye people in Ahoada West LGA.

They should be the ones speaking out.
As far as I am concerned, they don't exist.
Say NO to forming big brother
Say NO to speaking for people with mouth.

Simple
I can't bring myself as an Igbo man low to receive insults from inconsequential fellows

There are no Igbos in Bayelsa and Ekpeye are not Igbos.

After the civil war Ekpeye people were silent, refusing to identify with the Igbos neither the Ijaw. Ekeye is the bridge betwixt Igbos and Ijaws.

Zarama are the closest people to Ekpeye.

Only Obigbo I know because they showed the world that they are proud of themselves, they wear the Igbo badge with honor.
Anybody that wants to join Ndigbo now will be screened thoroughly.
The era of iberiberism have passed.
Even on twitter and radio stations today, the confused fellows saw hell.
No more using Igbo as an escape route

So, am not speaking out? We will remain silent because we are yet to heal from the trauma of the Civil war.
We can't go against our brothers the Igbos and neither our closest neighbor and friend, the Ijaw.

Has the Egbema in Rivers joined the stupidity now? I was there in 2007 and I received a warm reception.
It was a burial ceremony and no one ever gave me the standoffish behavior you get from Igbophobic Igboids like Ekpeye, Ikwerre,Etche, Ogba,Ika.
They all treated me like a brother. I went strolling around with friend, it was a burial of a very old man, so it was more of celebration of life.
Well if they have changed, then we can as well "Dash" them to Hausa-Fulanis.
That era of begging has gone.

I don't know if you are from there or not but Please I am begging you in the name of God, advice your people to stay down.
If you have noticed, MNK is under pressure to accept the 5 SE states. If you people like us, you should keep quiet now let one of us that is more likely to leave go.
Since you people managed to stay put since and in one way or the other allow or encourage the insults we endured over the years, you can definitely stay put for at least one more year, so that we will check if MNK will accept the offer.
We will support you guys as a country.
But if left for me, you guys are already doing well in Bayelsa with Ijaw people for you to be calm all these while

We don't know who have caught the fever but all I and most of us want them to do now, is to stay put like they have been doing let's allow MNK decide to go with the offer at hand.
If they still have some atom of love for us left, they should allow one of us to go now. The other can come and join later

The Ekpeye people have an ancestral trade with the Bendel people, as we fondly named a pepper Bendel pepper when we were young.

I don't understand this your post.
No offense, but I can't make sense of it.
They should stay down so that what would happen?
It's not like MNK and IPOB will stop dragging them and delaying us.
I'd say they should either come out and disgrace MNK publicly by denouncing totally any link with SE, so that MNK and IPOB can move on, or they should speak up now to show their support to SE, so that MNK and IPOB would have legitimacy in dragging them along SE and not look like kidnappers forcing Ekpeye into Biafra.

Ekpeye people remained with Ndiigbo to the end during the Biafran war. And they totally rejected Rivers State creation during the Willink commission fearing Ijaw domination and preferring to stay with their Igbo brothers.
If Rivers State were to be created by referendum in 60s and not by a military fiat, Ekpeye would have voted to stay with East Central state.

But things have changed and Ikwerre and Ogba have corrupted Ekpeye with their rabid Igbophobia virus.
Ekpeye is now rabidly Igbophobic.

Ekpeye still have strong men like Osinakachukwu Ideozu and the likes of Chibudom Nwuche.
They should speak up and make their stance Known.
But I belong to Ekpeye Facebook pages and so know for certain that Ekpeye commoners have been smitten with Igbo hate they were infected with by Ikwerres and Ogbas.

Obigbio was never part of Rivers State until the draconian boundary adjustment of 1976. Before the Nigeria/Biafra war, Obigbo was in Asa Country Council with headquarter at Obehie. After Nigeria/Biafra war, Asa County Council became Ukwa LGA which Obigbo was an integral part.

Nna, I don't think this is the right time to be discussing identity. We have an offer at hand. SE is on the table and many are rather happy MNK takes it except that he is stubborn as always.
He still believes that in one way, he can get the remaining part of Igboland that are lost, including the ones that insult us for a living.
I suggest, all other confused people stay down so that we can go with the SE states, Obigbo and few willing ones UN can grant us. We don't need to be delayed any longer. None of us is getting younger

Ekpeye is a big brother to Abua/Odual and Ogba people, lastly Ijaws in Ahoada West too, and the strongest aligns of the Ikwerre people.

True.
A wise person would take whatever offer at hand currently and negotiate later.
Ojukwu refused the USSR offer in 1960s, looking for a perfect offer that never came. With hindsight, we know he was wrong.

What I'm saying is that knowing IPOB and MNK, if groups from these Igbo speaking parts of SS don't come out openly and disgrace and denounce any link with SE, MNK and IPOB will never get the message or smell the coffee that these lots are not interested.

Someone like Osinakachukwu Ideozu coming out to denounce Biafra on behalf of Ekpeye would make alot of sense and help MNK make up his mind on SE Biafra fast.

Ekpeye is suffering from Eze crisis.

Every single village in Ekpeye now has an Eze and they are all fighting among themselves.

Meanwhile, despite having the first lady of Rivers State, Eberechi Suzanne, Wike's wife. Ekpeyeland is pretty much neglected in Rivers State like Obiigbo.
The place is starved of any tangible development. It's a pity.
