A monicker “presidency” posted a poor claim of how Buhari govt started and completed the Lagos-Ibadan Standard Gauge Railway. But a simple search online revealed what informed followers events in already, which is that the Jonathan administration actually awarded the contract to CCECC in July of 2012 for a cost of $1.49b. The question the presidency and its supporters should answer is what happened to that contract? Was no work done at all between 2012 and 2015 when Buhari took over? Why would GEJ govt complete the Abuja-Kaduna railway and not be committed to delivering the Lagos-Ibadan railway line too? We must not let facts be distorted and lies allowed to fly unchallenged. Find screenshots of reports of the contract from Reuters, Premium Times, etc, in 2012. Confusion everywhere Even from the link. It was awarded and started in 2006. Olusegun Obasanjo was the President then The minister noted that the rail project was in 2006 awarded to CCECC Ltd, a Chinese company, but could not be completed due to paucity of funds. 2 Likes |

He started it and someone took the bull by the horn and finished the project. Same way he started second Niger bridge by campaign. Gej remains the most ineffective president in Nigerian history.. 3 Likes |

See how pained they are? GEJ started nothing, the ground breaking was done by osinbajo. The entirety of the project was done under PMB. Your hero of thieves has moved, crumb beggars should get a life. 3 Likes |

Just for them to swallow their pride and appreciate the effort of Apc building the railway, GEJ started it... Hiss 5 Likes 2 Shares |

Wise man can you tell us who to be glorify between who started the abandoned project and who resursticate and completed the project that was abandoned due to looting of the funds meant for the project? |

Penguin2: Stop disgracing yourself all over the place. The 2012 contract was never implemented. Despite earning record revenue, Jonathan failed to fund the protect. He did not even complete the Abuja - Kaduna segment that he started. When Buhari came in in 2016, he re-awarded the project at a sum lower than the amount Jonathan agreed with the Chinese. Osinbajo flagged off the construction of the project in 2017. So, stop spreading unnecessary lies all over the years. If you’re sure construction started before Jonathan left office, show us progress picture of the project as at the time Jonathan left office. 5 Likes |

adekolaelect: You are confusing yourself , I feel pity for you Jonathan started a project and was voted out before the completion, how about that? If he didn't concieve and initiate that project buhari would never have thought of it's necessity , Remember in his hey days , he canceled a wonderful metro line project in Lagos preferring to pay compensation to the contractor of an equivalent to the project sum. This time around I think he is careful not to repeat same mistake hence he is busy completing all Jonathan's on going projects. Viz Rail lines, 2nd Niger bridge Etc Kudos to him anyway |

seunmsg: See Buhari flagging off the Abuja-Kaduna railway in July of 2016. Barely one year he took office. What does that tell u? That the project was near completion as of the time GEJ left office. Again show me proof that GEJ didn’t pay for the project after awarding it in 2012. Don’t just spew trash. Back it up with verifiable evidence.
