A former minority leader and House of representatives member, Farouk Adamu Aliyu (APC) has stated that the Fulani People are now an 'endangered species' in Nigeria.

Aliyu made this comment during a live interview, monitored by POLITICS NIGERIA, on Channels TV on Sunday night. According to him the Fulanis have a right to free movement to anywhere in the country as they are Nigerians also. He was reacting to a statement from Dike Chukwumerije on the open grazing ban put in place by Southern Governors.

"We are in a country where the Fulanis, sadly, are being targeted as endangered species. Is any Nigerian saying that the Fulanis have no right whatsoever to go with their cows from Jigawa to Bayelsa? No! "

"All the president was saying is that these routes are nobody's routes, they are government routes and they should be allowed".

"We are Nigerians".

He continued: "The constitution of this country guarantees freedom of movement. The constitution of this country guarantees you stay anywhere you want to stay and that's why i said i don't want to look at from the view of the Fulani man or the igbo man or the Yoruba man. We are what we are by birth".

He also commented on the clamour for an Igbo presidency saying that it's possible for the APC to field an Igbo candidate president but it won't be achieved through 'Blackmail' and 'violence'. He advised the Igbos to negotiate and dialogue.

The Fulani has rights over his cattle.....if he wants rights over my land he must pay for it. Cows Can transit through federal and public roads but over private property is trespass.

Why move around with cows through open grazing in this 21st century? This causes conflict because you guys keep destroying people farm which is their source of livelihood.

Why are these mofòs allergic to progress, advance/modern ways of doing things ? Your old way (open grazing) is causing destruction to farmers and it’s a threat to the southern people, just same way you guys banned alcohol beverages in the north. See the people you share one country with ?

Happy one Nigeria.

Any terrorists invading farmland and allowing cattle to destroy crops are indeed going to find themselves on the wrong end of a gun, with the result that they may be united with their 72 virgins on sight, so yes, describing such parasitic vandals as "an endangered species" is an accurate summation of the reality in today's Nigeria.

Someone should tell this illiterate senator that herdsmen have no right to move cattle into land they don't own.
The coward senator fled from his village for fear of the same bandits he is busy defending while innocent
villagers are being slaughtered.

Imagine someone to say Igbos don't get sense? What would u feel?
You can't say the whole tribe doesn't get sense because this sound like you are complete lunatic!
You can't point out group of people and give them common definition because of the action of just one person.
There were routes used by Fulani and if revived they may not destroy people's land to the extent having conflict with farmers. You can't see truth based on hatred but common sense.

maybe my first comment was derogatory, but then you your senses to ask yourself why we should revert to grazing routes of 1960's instead of ranching those animals. Why is a fulani man's business appearing to be like the nation's collective responsibility.

Very true.

They endangered themselve by themselves.

Terrorist are endangered species everywhere they are. Shekarau who is a terrorist was killed by ISWAP terrorist group.
Terrorist are not free anywhere, is either they are killed by security personnel, another terrorist group might even killed them or they will kill themselves by themselves, cos he who kills by sword always die by sword.

Buhari may be d last fulani president. It is very easy to defeat any party that will field a fulani in d future elections. Buhari has reduced their chances of been trusted. And this one all their leaders are backing their atrocities. I pity them sha.
