Nigerians are the most gullible people on Earth. Buhari said vote for me and I will make $1 equal to one naira. And you all voted for him. Instead one dollar that was N210 is now N481.
When Nigerians complained, Buhari sent bandits, kidnappers and fulani herdsmen to them.
When they protested he arrested and rearrested them.
When they reported him on Twitter. He banned them from tweeting and banned Twitter in Nigeria for removing his tweet.

The question we should ask ourselves is whether we have learnt our lessons undecided
You are dealing with people that do not know that these things are happening to them grin grin grin grin

Emefiele is clueless.

Someone said he sees Dollar exchanging for 1000Naira by the end of 2021! Ahh! I thought he was talking nonsense but see! cry
I don't think Emefiele is clueless, he is only doing the bid of his Oga Buhari
The problem is with bureau de change inability to source dollar else where Other than the CBN
Politicians and the greedy rich are the main problem of Nigeria.

Serious .

Aboki will buy dollar for 393 from CBN and sell for 593.

EMEFIELE is selling Nigeria to the Fulani everyday .

And most of the profits made from these "presidency sanctioned deals" go into financing boko haram and FULANI TERRORISTs ORGANISATIONs, like FUNAM and MIYETTI ALLAH.

They buy weapons , helicopters and bazooka to kill and Maim us

thinking out loud about this terrorists called Miyetti Allah now imagine can someone call himself Miyetti Jehovah and engage in terrorism, thunder will strike him immediately

Something is fishy about Allah come to think of it
Allah literally means the God
Jehovah is the personal name of A God
Can Allah be a diversion and can Muslim say Jehovah is the personal name of Allah if not who are they Worshipping

Most of the Arab countries are worse than Nigeria as regards importation yet their currency is still stable.

Nigeria must play outside the rules of class room economics.

This economical rules were created by the whites to favor than and disfavor others
.

No country play by the so called economics rules except African countries/ tHIRD world countries.

Its a thing of smartness.

I can't put it better..
Very frustrating to watch our best brains in economics, most of them trained abroad ofcourse, always parroting the views of their former foreign classmates here, even when such doctrines perpetuate poverty and solidifies Nigerias beggarly existence in the international stage. I don't understand it! Is it that they are incapable of independent thinking or What? Just look at how the local Chinese economists were able to outplay the west and caliberate the best route for communist china to make her life saving entrance into capitalism! If it's here, we will be following whatever that's dished out by the imf and world bank..

Our economist and leaders are incapable of independent thinking, 100% correct.

We must follow same routes the wise Chinese followed.

Who say you must devalute your own currency because of economic issues.

The country will recover soon, so its not a big deal.... Na d excuse the whites they use be dis.

Even when they devalute their currency they do it temporally.

The African man must imbibe independent thinking.

There are two solutions to this problem
1) Nigeria earns way more in dollars to quench its blood sucking attitude towards imported consumer goods by way of exports

2) locally produced goods are encouraged as substitute for imported goods

Objective 1 can only be achieved if for instance price of crude oil increases to let’s say magically 150$ per barrel so more revenue comes from the sale of crude oil ( because the only thing Nigeria can and will ever sell to anyone outside nigeria is oil )

Objective 2 can never be achieved because objective 2 requires a great manufacturing / industrial revaluation within months if not weeks

Objective 2 involves all of a sudden nigerian producing cars, cranes, motorcycles, iron etc everything Nigerians as at today import

If I was Nigerian president obj 2 looks impossible but much more possible than obj 1.

The easiet way to make a country want to manufacture what It consumes is the free market way. Removal of all entry to trade

No corporate tax on manufacturing companies, ease of doing business, visa on arrival for entrepreneurs and any foreigner, the FG will lose money initially but Nigerians will benefit

Also fix the power, factories need it. Sell one of the power plants to Russia or one of these countries

Power generation is a 19th century problem if you want 10,000 mw of electricity there are some countries that can build power stations for you that within weeks not even months

My two cents

Brilliant summation. The people who make up the government however never considers the masses in anything they do. We're like the afterthought. They know these things but don't care. As long as they and their future generation are sorted, the country could burn for all they care.

And besides, in principle, the president(or anyone else) does not have the power to sack the CBN governor. It is set up that way so that sound economic policymaking not be compromised by irrational political pressures. Unfortunately in Nigeria, this is in fact not the case, the presidency as well as various other political figures do have significant(unofficial) influence on the CBN governor and I believe that this is an important factor in the Nigerian economic environment. To be fair, the CBN policies have been sound and probably achieved towards economical development as much as can be expected absent fundamental change in the Nigerian economical apparatus. At the end of the day, Nigeria imports too much, hence the FX problem.

Thank you.As If only production alone will give a stronger currency.
There are some countries like Seychelles which are import dependent, yet have strong currencies.
The problems we have in this country are greed and corruption especially from the financial institutions in cancoon with the elite.
