The absent of a concrete proof whether God exist or not is the main reason religion was not exterminated in the now defunct USSR.

But a discovery of an organism (even trace fossil) say on Mars or another Cosmic body would change all that for some developed countries today in years to come. But before that, a (your) theory could.

When that happens, many individual of the future generations would then looked back at us and would hardly believed that they have evolved from such stupid gene as ours, just as we ourselves regards the orangutans today. But only few of the future generation would perhaps recognized the gem in the retard of today.

Cheers

To watch football and bet is now a religion, so religion ain't going anywhere.

Brilliant.

I like your classification of religious activity.

This is like saying Einstein would look back and see the flaws in Newton's Theories and would therefore claim or hardly believe that his own theory evolved from such stupid gene as Newtons and so regard Newton as an orangutan.

Meanwhile, sensibly intelligent people admire the intelligence of the orangutan that they know they evolved from because they understand that if the orangutan had not been intelligent enough to survive there'd have been no shoulder for Newton nor an Einstein nor themselves to stand on!

Interesting read,

Well written-thoughtful advice, that I almost edited my post to tone-down 'wonder of stupid gene...', but it would be a wonder anyway to future generations.

And you are completely right that had our antecedent not smart enough to survive, we wouldn't!

You might find the following thread interesting:

If we later find out that life exist elsewhere, will it shake the foundation of religion?

Nairaland should have a dislike button for the sake of such response.
