Whip wielding residents have vowed to forcibly remove people if nothing is done.

Residents say the South African government failed to curb illegal immigration and alledge that foreign nationals have been given preferential employment opportunities.

They say the township economy needs to be cleaned up and that the influx of drugs and the protection of the youth needs to be prioritised.

Soweto is South Africa's largest and most influential township, from where large xenophobic attacked originated in previous years.

They're complaining about illegal traders though. It's common knowledge in SA that most of these businesses don't pay taxes and don't employ locals. They opt for Zimbabwean, Malawian or Mozambican workers who work for far lower and unlawful rates.

And that's just a fact everyone who lives in SA knows.
