Buying directly from arms manufacturers will involve government to government negotiation so the prospect of enriching themselves corruptly is reduced. So, they prefer using so many funny middlemen. During Jonathan’s time, people like Oritsejafor were flying private jets stuffed with foreign currencies around to buy arms. Now, people from Niger republic are the fronts. It’s just an endless pit of corruption.

Sadly for the country, arms procurement is classified as national security and excluded from following due process as provided in the procurement act. Except we change the law, nothing much can be done.
