Meaningful Impact On Society: Your Role

You can never have an impact on the society if you haven't changed yourself, and one of the most powerful and important weapons for changing oneself is to be honest with yourself and recognize that people everywhere in the world want peace.

You should always strive to be in the company of great men, who are well, versed, more qualified and more talented, to exchange views and ponder on magnificent ideas. Doing so enriches your own life , fortifies your morality and gives you the courage to do better than your best.

Humility is a necessary virtue, if you are to make a significant impact on society. Its reward cannot be over emphasized. If you are humble, people will embrace you, realizing that you are no threat to them.

To be relevant in Society, you must be principled and not unstable. Unfortunately, some political analysts make the mistake of assuming their enemies are to be our enemies. Anybody who changes his/her principles on the basis of whom he/she is dealing with is not fit to lead a nation.

On our role in Nation building, take a cue from the words of the legendary Nelson Mandela, who said: ''If in these later years of a life lived in pursuit of equality, we can at last look upon our own country as one in which citizens, regardless of race, gender or creed, share equal political rights and opportunities for development. We do so with great gratitude towards the millions upon millions all around the world who materially and morally supported our struggle for freedom and justice."

It is important to understand that our time here on earth is limited. So, let us make effort in using the time we have now in transforming our country into what we desire it to be for the betterment of our generation yet unborn.
