HISTORICAL BACKGROUND OF ADENIRAN OGUNSANYA COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, AOCOED, STAFF SCHOOL, OTTO/IJANIKIN, LAGOS STATE

The School was established on 22nd October, 1992 and it was then called LACOED Staff School. The name later changed to AOCOED staff school as a result of the change in the name of the entire College to Adeniran Ogunsanya College Of Education (AOCOED) to immortalize the name of a renowned Nigerian politician- Adeniran Ogunsanya; after his death. The establishment of the school was on the decision of the Academic Board of the college to have a Demonstration School. The School was created with the intention of making it a self-sustaining institution.


AOCOED Staff School operated as a Unit of the College Joint Ventures until the end of January 2007 when the Governing Council deliberated and approved the harmonization of Staff School into the main stream of Personnel of the College Mrs. A.I. Adelana, the Pioneer Head of School, was re-deployed in August, 2005 to another unit of AOCOED.  Dr. Ayinde Benjamin, a Chief Lecturer from the School of
Sciences, took over on 14th February, 2007 as Sole Administrator in September, 2005.  


Mr. E.O. Ajose, also a Chief Lecturer from the department of Social Studies took over from Dr. Benjamin in 2007. 


On June 1st, 2012, Mr. Sunday Adetayo Ogunmade was
employed as Substantive Head till date.



MISSION AND OBJECTIVES

The main objective is to make AOCOED Staff School a Demonstration School and a model among all other similar schools in Lagos State

            VISION:

To reduce the burden it poses on the College Staff to take their children to and from their various schools;

To offer the College Staff the opportunity to send their children to standard and qualitative schools; and
To serve as a source of generating Revenue

Certificate of Participation at the Annual Otto-Awori Youth Forum Education Programme, on 28th – 30th of December, 2015.

Certificate of Award as the 3rd Runner-Up at the 3rd Annual Spelling Bee Competition for Primary School Category, on 13th of November, 2015 by Odus Glorious Time Venture.


     Certificate of Participation at the Annual Spelling Bee Competition Tagged “Spell it Right” by Odus Glorious Time Venture on the 13th of November, 2015.

Certification of award as the 1st and 3rd position at the Annual Otto-Awori Youth Forum Education Programme, on 30th of December, 2015.

Certificate of Participation at the Annual Mathematics Competition, on the 5th of March, 2016 by Odus Glorious Time Venture.

Certificate of Participation at the Annual Competition on: Spelling Bee on the 12th of November, 2016 by Odus Glorious Time Venture.
