That is why l say Nigeria seems like it is on its way down, the Corruption is so Endemic, from the President, to the National Assembly members, to Civil Servants, to the Military.
This Country is FAILED and should terminate.

Bawa, Head of EFCC would not see this type of people to Chase and recover our money from, but he will be gallivanting in Niger Delta, doing Bunkering and claim to be chasing small-time indigenes trying to make a living by locally refining Diesel.
ICPC, FSU and other Anti-Corruption Agencies are there, taking Bribes, day and night.

#662 Million awarded, for a job of #188Million? A serious Country will probe deep, arrest and prosecute all those connected with such Scam.
Do we know how many of such Scams are going on right now, with all the Road/building Contracts that Nigerian Governors are awarding?
Is there not independent Evaluation panel that can COST this projects and recover any excess money awarded to any contractor, by any Civil Servant or Politician?

And we think this country will progress and the suffering of the people will reduce?
It wont happen.
Even the current Regime and its leadership and fully enmeshed in Corruption and Nepotism
Tueh

The project the requested for such big amount, got approval but failed to execute for the benefit of the masses is the same project that a Church has successfully executed at a cost, just about one quarter of what our politician asked and got approval for.
These people are just wicked

.you forgot to include time frame

#662M in 2010 and executed with #188M after several years despite inflation that might have been accrued to initial cost.

Because there was an issue with this one that is why you know about it. Do you think this is the only road RCCG has ever constructed for public use, how many of them do you know? A lot of Roads has been constructed by Winners (Oyedepo) in that Sango/Ota axis. Ask those that leave around there if you have any.

Factor in inflation. 662m is much more now.

In Nigerian government contracts, as much as 70% of the contract sum is for bribes.

Look at the National Assembly they renovated that was leaking the other day. Just look at the national embarrassment.

Contractors dey get mind to abandon project because dem don use 70% take settle oga.
if you are talking of inflation, that of RCCG would have been higher because they came in later after the contract has been awarded and abandoned by the contractor.

That was even 2011 when things were cheaper. If the FG is to award same today to themselves it'll not be less than 3billion

The RCCG just wake up and start talking about this particular road? They only petition national assembly when they noticed that the the contractor that abandoned the project went to claimed his remaining balance from the ministry of works. If not, you won't hear them announced it in media. I asked you gain, do you think this particular road was the only road they have ever constructed for public use? Why is that others are not in the media?

why can't those from jigawa or anambra do their own road like adeboye has done for his own people.

Your post doesn't make sense, adeboye is not FG, he should even be given a national honour for doing an FG road

Yea it ought to be,this #188m is actually small, what is entailed In road project is far beyond reach when it comes to open /selective bid. The #188m will just finish on getting a laptop, hilux fueling and many more for the consultants. Also the designs are definitely not the same for that price difference maybe absence of drainage and orher features.

But that church just completed a road for ₦188 million instead of the over ₦600 million budgeted by the government.

Additionally, those playing that road will be grateful to the church that constructed the road.

Imagine a church taking over a road that was allocated by the federal government.
Even the foreign contractors believe that our government can do nothing.

We need to wipe out this shame from our face.

The Govt should live up to their responsibilities.
It saddens my heart that we don’t have 24 hours electricity in most part of our country, yet the government is exporting electricity to other countries grin grin angry

My dear, Who told you it was the foreign contractor that just decided to leave with the money without doing any work? Who even said the contractors are truly foreign contractors and not just fronts for a Nigerian big oga?
Even the rest of the money almost half a billion has since been paid into the main oga's account.
If you know how decayed the Nigerian system is you will give up hope of Nigeria ever getting better.
That contractor was brought in as a front for one big oga to avoid trace, his cut in the deal was the #151mill paid to him and he goes home with it without doing shit, the rest will be paid to the big oga and case closed, while the terrible road will still remain in that deplorable condition waiting to be used again to syphon more money after a few years.
That's how things work in this shit hole.
