I decided to park just for her to go and sit at back pending when we get to the hospital. they pounced came and said no seat belt illegal parking blah blah.. they fleeced me 20k that day. i had to give them just to get my wife to the hospital.. the law is made for man not man for law. law enforcers should have a human face.. in the application, there is what u call discretion.. that is why u have humans enforcing.. not animals .. these guys don't have empathy. they are wicked souls. like downright wicked. and they are cursed if u have ever had any issue with them u will understand.

I have had even worse situation with the Nigerian Police, I have to negotiate a resolution because the end would have been costlier (imagine the cost to him) . I certainly wouldn't have followed his approach.

Traffic officers are very notorious. Between Lagos State traffic officers and Timariv in Rivers State,I don't know the most notorious.

Whatever timariv means ? The police officers and traffic warders at Waterlines junction had done what this man described to me. They are everywhere.

As much as I reckon with your thoughts, safe is it to say that negotiating with these guys in a logical way was practical impossible due to the current situation he was in. I couldn't have imagine the rollercoaster of emotions flowing through his veins at that moment. It was a matter of life....

I've also had a bitter experience with those lasma officials in the same spot(akonwonjo roundabout). Had to sort them out as I had my wife whom was pregnant at the time with me in the car.

I couldn't finish reading ur voluminous write-up but from d little I read, u would have avoided this problem if you had put ur wife in d back seat since she couldn't use d seat belt. I will never drive without d use of seat belt because I nor fit for wahala.LASMA na agberu n dt is y person must try avoid them at all cost

Rule number one: whenever you meet any of these uniform personnels be it police or lastma, Do not ever beg.. That's the worst way to get out of any issue. Stand your ground with your voice raised and make your points very clear with a stern face.

These same set of people forcefully took over my car on the basis that I did not put on a seat belt in my neighbourhood, drove it to PWD took me in a mini bus to the PWD and started intimidating me till they collected 15,000 naira from me. Wicked set of animals. They should be sent to firing square.
