Teniola Apata, popularly known as Teni The Entertainer was the highlight of the 4th edition of MSME Awards and Dinner Night that held at the Banquet Hall, State House on Sunday.

Before she came on stage, she was described by the MC as the most sought after (in fact, the best) Nigerian female musician at the moment.

Amidst a resounding applause, she began performing her first track: "Uyo Meyo".

The energetic musician put gloss to the event that was laced with the ingenuity and innovation of the Nigerian youth, many of whom showed the grit expected of them.

Her colourful performance reached a crescendo when she shared a special moment with the Vice President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo who is championing the growth and development of MSMEs in Nigeria with a view to creating jobs and empowering more people.

Teni went on to thrill the audience with her other tracks like "For You", "Billionaire", etc.

The bond between Teni and Prof. Osinbajo dates back to a few months ago, when she took to her social media page to share some adorable photos from her visit to the Aso Villa. She thanked the Vice President at the time for taking out time despite his busy schedule.

She also thanked him for the encouraging and impactful words he had for her.

In her parting words, she encouraged all the awardees to always remember that they were on their way to becoming billionaires.

The MSME Awards is a yearly event, organised by the Vice President to encourage, motivate and promote Nigerian youths who are into small and medium scale businesses. The winners receive cash prizes ranging from N500,000 to N1 million with cars as the star prize for the night.

This year, the recipient of MSME of the Year, “Bold Artistry”, is a company with a team of young and creative artists working on improving the arts industry by introducing Polystyrene to their works. With this, they have created impressive artworks and are providing jobs for many budding artists.
