Nnamdi kanu, the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People Of Biafra has been arrested by the Federal government of Nigeria.

Abubakar Malami, Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, disclosed this to the press today after Kanu was extradited to Abuja from the United Kingdom where he was arrested.

According to the Attorney General, his arrest came to a success through a collaborative effort between the Interpol and security agencies in Nigeria. He also said that Kanu will face the charges laid against him before the Federal High Court in Abuja to continue his trial on treasonable felony, terrorism, management of an unlawful society and unlawful possession of firearms.

Kanu who was granted bail in 2017 due to his health condition, skipped bail and flouted some of the conditions which was given to him by the court. He has since then been on the run to avoid his arrest.
