The amendment further stipulates conditions under which a police officer can arrest without warrant, one of which is that a person must be reasonably suspected to unlawfully be in possession of firearms or other such dangerous instruments.

According to a statement by Eromosele Ebhomele, chief press secretary to the speaker, the subsection of the bill also bars the police or any other agency from arresting a person “in lieu of any other person in a criminal matter”.

Let them continue.. I see no reason why you should parade suspects without concreat evidence that they commited the crime! Not even from a court of law.

Good! Lagos taking the lead. Useless police must comply. States have so much power, they need to unleash them now; they shouldn't be pushed around by the terrorist in Aso Rock.

How could good for nothing DSS go to Oyo state to carry out assassination without informing the chief security officer of the state?

States have power over land matters and they should stop the terrorist from bringing back the grazing routes to favour his criminal and land-grabbibg kinsmen from other West African countries.

All these people oriented and civilised guidelines for living can only be seen down south.

The north can only replicate what happens in Yemen and Afghanistan.

The drawbacks that currently bedevils Nigeria is as a result of the jaundiced policies of the Sahelian descendants.

Nairalanders, all those guys here on Nairaland who keep using words like IPOB, AFONJA are neither Yoruba or Igbo, they are part of the BMC media crew keen on dividing the south.

On Twitter, Yabaleft and IG, Yorubas and Igbos speak one voice.

Southern Nigeria is SANER AND PROGRESSIVE together

PANIC BILL

knowing fully well that EFCC has resumed the case of the bullon van mogul, his rubber stamp house of assembly has rushed to ban public parading of suspects.

When Nigeria lawmakers suddenly know the right thing to do, just know that something is fishy.

The master is coming for the slave.

Even if they don't parade the suspect, the public must see the mugshots of the suspect, that is how it's is done internationally. Not releasing mugshots to the public will not make us know potential criminals among us and that can put our lives at risk. Also the police can free suspects secretly through this Bill, Nigeria police is too corrupt for such bill. The bill must be checked.

You're dummy......it doesn't affect EFCC... it's a state law.

It affects EFCC, Lagos is always the Prosecutor in all criminal cases, again Lagos State Anti Corruption gave Lagos the full right to take over Prosecution of EFCC cases at will

I agree, thumbs up. It doesn't make sense to parade suspects, is it a media trial or a circus show?
