The main point is what are the requirements to be eligible for being a member of a political party ? Is it a sworn affidavit or twitter message ?
Since only a sound-minded Nigerian who has attained the age of 18 years and has been duly registered by a political party,can claim to be a member ,it's only the constitutional requirements that should suffice.
Can Lauretta Onochie claim any right or privilege of APC membership, like voting or contesting during the party's primary elections , without being registered with the party ?
I think what the Senate Committee on INEC needs to do is to confirm whether her name is still in the new membersip revalidation register of APC, before making its final recommendations to the plenary.
