There is no doubt that the elites not just the politicians have continued doing whatever it takes to keep the present system going.
The politicians, big business tycoons, top clerics etc are those directly benefiting from the current system.
Immediately one finds himself in that circle, the mentality automatically changes.
The Oshiomholes, the Keyamos etc are typical examples.
The Nigeria elites have become gods. At the snap of their fingers everything begins to happen. They can get any woman they wish to. I ve been opportune to stay close to a governor's brother who is not even that influential. Every evening he had supply of different girls/ladies/women around the government house. These ladies would wait for hours for him to finish in the office and chose the ones he preferred and then settle the others.
The elites have gotten used to these lifestyles that they wiuldnt want any change in the arrangements and they will do just anything to sustain this present system.
As far as they are concerned, the poor should keep getting poorer
