what has this government done with all the money that they've borrowed.......$1billion for security, has security improved since when they borrowed that money in 2017? What happened to the money? And yet you're talking about benefits the government would do with the money.......that's just free loot money for those in government.

Deal with the issues separately.

From an economic standpoint, subsidies should be removed. How can we be spending N1trl to subsidise petrol for big men with 3 cars moving around daily. One for Oga, madam and school runs, when FG revenue is just about N6trn.

Dealing with corruption in government is then another issue that should be dealt with. Citizens should shine their eyes. All the corruption is done in conjunction with civil servants and none of them blows the whistle or does anything about it cos they also want their share of it.

if we talk about masses, masses use Kerosene which has been deregulated for almost 3years now. In fact using gas has become cheaper and easier and many are switching. For transport of goods, 99% of vehicles that transport goods across the country use diesel which has also been deregulated for 15+years now and has gone from 150 in June 2020 to 290 now. That is part of why foodstuffs have also been increasing.

So who benefits from the so called subsidy

By default VP is the NEC Chairman and he is duly elected by electorates. Senate President is elected based on zoning formula especially from the ruling party. All major positions belongs to ruling party as such the permutation is made in such away that President is from NE, Senate President is from NE, Speaker & VP are from SW.
Executives doesn't have power to make legislative appointment!

the problem is not deregulation but the thieves who will steal the proceeds from deregulating fuel price.

You are right but if they see better crowd like say just 10million Nigerians coming out to protest, they go mellow and do the will of the people. It will happen someday with the way Nigeria is going
