BUA INTERNATIONAL LIMITED SET TO BUILD REFINERY IN IBENO....

Bua group of companies is set to build a 200,000-b/d grassroots integrated refining and petrochemical plant in Ibeno local government area. The project when completed is expected to produce high-quality gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel meeting quality specifications for the Nigerian market and the larger region.

Speaking at the palace of His Royal Majesty Owong (Dr) Effiong B. Archianga, the Paramount Ruler Ibeno local government, Bua Refinery Coordinator Nasir Giwa said " we are here today to declare our intentions to kick start the project and I'm here to tell the royal father's that our proposed Refinery and petrochemical complex is expected to be the second biggest in Nigeria, our executive management have approved the immediate construction of the road and bridge that leads to the proposed site."

Responding, the Paramount Ruler appreciates the company for choosing Ibeno as the preferred location to site the project and reiterated the commitment of Ibeno people to give the company a secured and conducive environment to do business.

He further stressed the need for the company to do proper deforestation and resettlement of residents in the affected villages where the project is proposed to be sited, the royal father stressed the need for proper Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Operational MOU, compliance with local content laws, compensation to the people of the affected communities and the need for the company to have its Operational quarters and base in Ibeno.

The visitors in company of the representative of the State Ministry of Petroleum Mr. Idongesit Esen were received by the Executive Chairman of Council, High Chief Williams Mkpah, Labour Chairman Engr Micheal Abakam, Women leaders and Youth Presidents.
