Website Vs Funnels: Which Do You need for your business? by Clickguy44: 9:35pm On Jul 16, 2021
If you need a website but use a funnel?

You're leaving money on the table.

But,

If you need a funnel but use a website?

You're leaving ALL the money on the table.

So which one do you *actually* need?

Let’s talk about it:

Websites are broader.

Websites:

>catch people from different places
>have multiple links that transfer away from the original site

Funnels:

>very specific
>all links transfer the customer from one page to the next
>conversion rate driven

Look at it this way:

A website is a really big net.

If a fish is swimming and we want to catch it, we use a really big net to catch as many fish as possible.

BUT,

If you want to catch a specific fish?

You use specific bait, rod, and hook.

With funnels, the goal is to catch just ONE certain fish.

It's (usually) so specific you can almost guarantee you're going to get a certain type of person.

You're going to hook them and convert them on your offer.

A funnel has control over the customer journey.

"If I already have a website, what's the point of a funnel?"

Customers are at different stages of their journey.

Different awareness levels = need for funnels

Why?

Because funnels 'hold your hand' from Unaware -> Aware.

For example,

Take a potential customer going through a funnel.

1st Page:

Gives away all the secrets - it tells everything.

Example:

"Here's the top 10 secrets to writing a good tweet. Click this button for more"

And they click the button.

Then they go to the next page.

Here, there's more value + selling.

For example:

"Want 10 more secrets? Enter your email address for more."

Now, you continue the funnel via email.

Your customer gets an email sequence leading them to 'Most Aware'.

Continuing this example,

The next step of the funnel?

Customer buys a course.

And from there, you can have upsells, downsells, etc.

Funnels can get as complex as you want them to.

In summary:

>A funnel is very focused and driven

>There is an exchange between you + the customer

>It has an exchange rate

>It's scientific

>You've mapped it out every step

>After every 'transaction', they move onto the next step

>It's calculated

With a website, you don't control the customer journey.

You don't know where the customer will start + where they will end,

OR what people are going to pull the trigger on.

Traffic can browse for a moment, get bored and click away.

How to decide whether you need a funnel vs website

If you have 1 offer?

Go with a funnel.

If you have multiple unrelated offers?

Go with a website.

Also,

If you need to educate your users, you need a website (to post content, interview people, etc)

If you want conversions (email sign-ups, purchase, etc), you need a funnel.

Every business needs a website, and every website should lead into a funnel.

If you want a website or funnel built?
