An unexpected tension has enveloped the PDP as the political kingmakers in APC ate said to finally resolved to offer the party's 2023 presidential ticket to former President Goodluck Jonathan. On the heels of the development, which took analysts by surprise, the party's Acting National Chairman - Mai Mala Buni, Minister of Justice Malami and current Jigawa State Governor - Badaru were said to be fighting fiercely to grab the slot of presidential running mate.

His supporters are said to be hinging their solidarity on "the urgent need to have young Turks in the frontline of the 2023 politics".

While battle hots up, according to reliable sources, some schemings, horse-trading and "outsmarting of opponents" to give one another a head-start on the presidential running-mate slot has been going with high velocity.

As the ruling party awaits the return to Abuja, of its national leader, who doubles as the President, it is obvious that Nigerians have not yet seen the last of heavy political strategizing for the nation's presidency.
