The sang in good spirit bro. It was all done without any animosity. You’d be surprised to know the origin of that song. It wasn’t even from Ndi agbaenu.

You are correct. Onoh nwa Ngwo (Bianca Onoh’s dad used wa very often, he was proud of their dialect. Bless his soul.

Infact people from Nkanu/Agbani in Enugu referred to Ngwo people as Wawa people probably because of CC Onoh.
Yes..
In Enugu state,we call them the Agbaja people or Wawa people courtesy of CC Onoh..

Wawa terminology has no link with blacksmithing or ‘wa’ (to cut).
Enugu ngwo, Eke, Oye all use the word...wa..it means no or Wawa as an emphasis.

Wawa wasn’t derogatory as far as I can remember. As a child growing up in Enugu, we used it as banter but it ends there just as Anglicans (CMS or ndi seleme) will banter Catholics (ndi fada).

We used to sing “Wawa, oji okpa añu tea” but it ends there. Nothing serious.

Enugu and Ebonyi people call us Anambra people ‘Ndi ijekebee or Ndi agbaenu’.

Is this what you know or what you feel. Wawa = carvers/smiths. Oka = Wawa. Umudioka = Wawa.
There nothing called 'Us Anambra' in the Igbo language.

If you have been to Awka you'll know their dialect isn't different from many in Enugu, so even your take on the word still classifies them as Wawa. Okwa ppl will tell you they're from Enugu

Ironically the capital of Anambra is Wawa lol

Awka is not Wawa. But they are closely related with Wawa people being their neighbors since creation. So there is lots of interchange of words and culture between both groups.

because they're wawa lol
