Background Scripture: Heb.11:24-27

• Your calling is your life (Isa. 43:7; 1 Cor. 9:16). It is the PURPOSE for which you were created. In God’s kingdom, we don’t do everything. There is “ONE THING” for everyone. Other things we do may be mere support or prelude to the “One Thing”, but they must not become a golden handcuff (Ps.27:4; Phil.3:13; Mk.10:21).
“One Thing” lifestyle:
1. Allows Focus to thrive (Pr.4:25-27).
2. Disallows Distraction (Lk.12:13-14).
3. Creates Identity (Dt.28:10, 1).
4. Establishes Relevance (1Sam.20:18, 27).
5. Entrenches Specialization
6. Minimizes Errors (Rev.2:25 & 3:11).
• Also in God’s kingdom, we don’t do things because they are popular (in vogue, acceptable, democratic or trending); we don’t do things because we love it or because it’s convenient for our comfort; we don’t do things because they are facially profitable. Rather, we do things that are central to the “WILL of GOD” for us, either popular, convenient, profitable or not (Ps.40:6-.
• In God’s kingdom, there is also the “RIGHT SIDE”. Peter was not failing because he was doing many things or working against God’s will, but simply because he was working on the “Wrong Side” (Lk.5:4-7; Jn.21:6). There’s righteous and unrighteous side of business, leadership and followership.
• Ignorance of this truth damns life and extinguishes destiny (Hos. 4:6). This is the reason our Lord Jesus emphasized the importance of knowing the truth for perfect freedom (Jn. 8:32). Ignorance or falsehood can hold people down in captivity (Isa.5:13).
• If a man is diligent in his own business, he will excel (Prov. 22:29). If a man engages in other people’s business, no doubt, it will be struggle, dying, toiling and exercising in futility, getting nowhere (Song of Solomon 1:6). So, the way of a man not found in his call before God would be hard (Pr.13:15). We can ask Peter and the Prodigal Son (Lk.5:1-8; 15:17-24).
• If we do what we are born to do, be where we are born to be, we shall have what we are born to have.
• Man generally is ordained to be like God. Fish can be like fish, bird like bird, other animals like their kind, but man is not permitted to be like man, but only like God (Gen.1:24-27). So, every man is exclusive to God and himself.
• Let’s try answer these vital questions of life:

In Jesus Christ, there is only one calling and one will of God for us all. Everything else is meaninglessness. And we are distracted by the meaningless things of this world, we become no longer different from those who are in the world.

Jesus Christ calls everyone who comes to Him to live a life according to His Law, serving Him through continual submission to and obedience of His teachings and comandments/rules for that is the only way to achieve the Will of God and let Jesus Christ live His life through us, the good that is God.
