Ae-funai Agric Faculty Holds Seminar On Career Opportunities For 400 L Students by cyborgFUNAI: 5:50pm On Aug 03, 2021
The Faculty of Agriculture, Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State has organized a one-day seminar for 400 level students of the faculty geared towards exposing the students to the various career opportunities in the field of Agriculture.

The seminar was also meant to prepare the students for the mandatory 6-month Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) to ensure they make adequate use of the opportunity provided by the Scheme by highlighting the numerous career opportunities existing for graduates of Agriculture.

Speaking at the event, an Agric Credit/Relationship Manager, First Bank Nigeria Plc, Mr. George O. Agugu gave a field experience of the numerous opportunities existing for graduates of Agriculture in various sectors of the economy, such as in International Agricultural Organizations, Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of Government, academia and the organized private sector, adding that the field of Agriculture prepares students to be self-reliant and employers of labour on graduation.

He enjoined the students to be focused in their studies and be proud of their field of study, noting that without agriculture there will not be food security in the country.

Speaking earlier, the Acting Dean, Faculty of Agriculture Dr. Jane O. Munonye advised the students to be serious-minded and focused in their academic activities, stating that there are many career opportunities in different areas of Agriculture which can guarantee them a better future.

While expressing appreciation for the seminar, a student leader representing the Faculty of Agriculture in the Senate, Students’ Union Government, Akude Childera Nicholas, thanked the Faculty for exposing them to the numerous career opportunities in the field of Agriculture, noting that the seminar has armed them with the needed knowledge to approach their future with confidence.
