Do you mean a pure boer and Kalahari red for 60 to 80k in a farm in the East? Have you visited the farm yourself before ascertaining that price?

We are located at Iseyin in Oyo state. I'm not sure if the promo will run till February but I'm sure that it will run till December.

A Polish politician of Nigerian descent, Hon. John Godson, has lamented after losing 17 Boer goats and 3 Boerboel Dogs to poisoning. The former and first black lawmaker in Poland who is the Founder and CEO of Pilgrim Ranch in Umuahia, Abia state - revealed that an investigation is underway to uncover those behind the poisoning as he lost over 15 million naira in the process.

Below is what he shared on his social media page;

I am sad to inform that at the Pilgrim Ranch we have lost 17 Boer goats and 3 Boerboel Dogs to poisoning. The dead goats include our premier stud buck- King George while the Dogs include Blacky, Cherry and Clara. We are presently conducting investigations to find out who is behind this dastardly sabotage.

The total loss in monetary terms is more than 15 million naira. Despite these setbacks, we will always be thankful to God and we are pressing on with the vision of establishing one of the best ranches in this part of Africa.

Every ruminant farmers should always prefer quality animals over quantity. It's not about the numbers of animals on the farm but the quality of the animals. A good quality animals with good nutrition and management will always make farmers to smiles to market earlier than others.

Vaccinate your goats against PPR.
PPR (Peste des Petits Ruminants) is a highly contagious viral diseases in small ruminants especially in goats and sheep. It is also known as goat plague which can wipe out a whole herds if not discovered early or well manage. There is no cure for this viral disease but it can be managed. The good news is that it can be prevented through vaccination. The disease outbreak is always common around this period of the year but it is not limited to this season. Some of the clinical signs of PPR are discharge from the nose, sore mouth, high temperature (fever) etc
However, some farms have started recording outbreak of PPR on their farms and this is the reason while it is very necessary for farmers to vaccinate against it early.

Pasture establishment is key if you want to practice a successful livestock production.
