The Assistant Director, Corps Welfare and Health Alh. Adamu Abdullahi has warned the 2021 Batch B stream I corps members in an interactive session that they must never travel without due permission from the scheme's management in the State.

Adamu said this while delivering a lecture on corps welfare and health at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp Ede, on Thursday.

According to him, permission to travel can be given only for some specific reasons which cannot be denied because of it's importance.

Adamu reminded the corps members of the several measures put in place by the scheme to cater for their welfare and health throughout the service year.

Adamu said that the scheme being a humane scheme has approved several leaves for the corps members, such as: maternity, terminal, sick, convocation, examination and wedding leaves. Also, he added that the health of corps members is sacrosanct to the scheme thus making the scheme to fund the treatment of sick corps members during the service year.

He enjoined all Corps Members in attendance to remain in their places of primary assignment and save the scheme and their parents from heartbreaks and worries which many have done through frivolous and unauthorized journeys or night travelings. He enjoined them to obey instructions and have respect for constituted authorities at all levels and shun youthful tendencies capable of jeopadising their wellbeing during the service year.

“Stay peaceful, complete your service year and go home peacefully", he added.

Additionally, he encouraged them to remain optimistic about their posting because NYSC Osun has taken measures to ensure their comfortability and safety.

"Be rest assured that we are going to take good care of you and support you in whatever capacity we can." He added.

He ended by asking corps members to remain discipline and virtuous till the end of their lives.
